Geneva, Switzerland – January 16, 2026 – Acqiris SA, a leading solution provider for signal acquisition and processing, today announces the launch of the SA6, a new high-performance compact 12-bit data acquisition (DAQ) solution engineered to meet the requirements of Swept-Source Optical Coherence Tomography (SS-OCT) systems for image quality, size, and cost.
The SA6 is designed for SS-OCT OEMs building compact, high-performance systems where image quality, thermal constraints, and integration efficiency are equally critical.
Superior SS-OCT Performance, Ultra-compact footprint
Thanks to an innovative low-noise front-end design, the SA6 accurately captures waveforms at up to 1 GS/s, achieving excellent signal fidelity and high-contrast imaging. Combined with the Acqiris AQOCT Solution Package, the SA6 integrates high-speed data acquisition, real-time OCT signal processing, and streaming.
Engineered for modern SS-OCT system architectures, the SA6 enables real-time, low-latency OCT image reconstruction at typical 50–200 kHz A-scan rates, while delivering clinical-grade image clarity and premium dynamic range. All of this is achieved within the most compact PCIe form factor in its class.
Key solution benefits
- Compact by design, OEM-ready: Half-length PCIe form factor with integrated cooling and fans provides a very small footprint for tightly constrained medical or industrial SS-OCT platforms.
- Clinical-grade fidelity: Enabled by 12-bit acquisition at up to 1 GS/s simultaneously on two channels, combined with a new low-noise front-end architecture achieving 9.3 ENOB, the SA6 delivers high-resolution, high-contrast SS-OCT imaging.
- Optimized dynamic range: Flexible full-scale input range selectable by software (250 mV, 500 mV, 1 V, 2 V) allows OEMs to tune signal levels and maximize effective resolution and spurious-free dynamic range (SFDR), particularly for low-amplitude signals.
- Proprietary FPGA Resampling IP: Our unique algorithm optimizes the Point Spread Function (PSF), delivering superior resolution and maximum sensitivity.
- Accelerated system integration: Consolidation of acquisition and OCT processing reduces system complexity and enables faster development cycles and quicker time-to-market.
- High-throughput architecture: Streaming capability and direct GPU transfer via RDMA ensure real-time, low-latency OCT data transfer and efficient image reconstruction.
- Low power consumption: Typical power consumption of approximately 20 W reduces thermal constraints and supports reliable operation.
- Flexible customization: Customizable software, FPGA, and I/Os allow OEMs to tailor the system to their specific needs.
“With the SA6 solution, we focused on what SS-OCT system designers really need: clinical-grade performance, extreme compactness, and a solution that integrates easily into real-world products,” said Giovanni Lucia, SS-OCT Solution Manager at Acqiris. “The result is superior performance, delivered in a form factor optimized for OEMs.”
